The 4017 decade counter sequencer is a 10 step counter that divides voltages. You can use it to count as many steps as you wish, as long as you add the correct message to the correct reset input pin. The sequencer can't be used to sequence audio, it needs to sequence inputs from 5 volts up. You can also add a pulse to the sequencer "timer" pin to generate a pulse for the sequencer.
